Terms of service

1. About these terms

These terms govern the website build and hosting services provided by Willow Host, a sole trader based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. By signing up, you agree to them. A separate service agreement may set out the specific scope and price of your build.

2. What we provide

We provide a hand-coded website build (paid once, upfront) and ongoing managed hosting (paid monthly). Hosting includes keeping your site online, SSL, daily backups, and email support from the person who built your site. Exactly what's included depends on the plan you choose.

3. Pricing and the price-lock promise

This is central to how we work, so we put it in writing:

• Your monthly hosting rate is locked for the life of your account. The price you sign up at is the price you keep. We will never raise it on you.
• We may set different prices for new customers over time. That never affects existing customers — your rate stays as agreed.
• The one-off build fee is quoted and agreed before work begins. Confirm deposit terms — e.g. deposit upfront, balance on launch

4. Payment

Hosting is billed monthly/annually — confirm in advance. The build fee is invoiced as agreed in your service agreement. Confirm what happens on late or missed payment, and any grace period

5. Your responsibilities

You're responsible for providing your content, for the lawfulness of what's published on your site, and for keeping your contact and billing details current. You agree not to use the hosting for anything illegal or harmful.

6. Your data and backups

Your site and its data are yours. Backups are encrypted with a key that you hold — we store the encrypted backup but cannot read its contents. Where we process personal data contained in your site, we do so as your processor; see our privacy policy for detail, and a current list of sub-processors is available on request. A separate data processing agreement (DPA) should accompany these terms for customers handling personal data

7. Leaving us

You can leave at any time. Because you hold your own backup key and your site isn't tied to a proprietary platform, you can take a complete, portable copy of your site with you. Confirm notice period and any final-invoice terms We don't lock you in with anything other than doing a good job.

8. If we stop trading

A fair question to ask any one-person business. We commit, in writing, to the following if Willow Host ever ceases trading:

• We will give you NOTICE PERIOD TBC notice wherever possible.
• Because you hold your own backup key and your site is built on open, portable foundations, you will always be able to move it to another host.
• We will describe the handover process — e.g. provide files, assist migration for a defined period.

This cessation clause must be finalised and legally reviewed — it is one of the most important commitments on this page.

9. Liability

We take reasonable care to keep your site online and secure, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service. This section needs proper legal drafting — limitation of liability, exclusions, and what we are and aren't responsible for.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Where changes materially affect you, we'll let you know. Changes never override the price-lock promise in section 3 for existing customers.
